Anticipated Results

NBP addresses the key issues with the quality of registered nurses practicing in both the public and private hospitals across Bangladesh as acknowledged by Health and Nutrition Sector Development Program (HNSDP) and also identified as a quick-win opportunity to strengthen the capacity of nurses for immediate, affordable improvements to health outcomes.

In terms of the quality of care provided by NBP graduates, the following demonstrated results from Nurse Bridge Program, (NBP) Follow-up Survey Report at participating hospitals indicate very positive feedback across the board:

• Strongly satisfied with the course curriculum as well as the quality of teaching.
• NBP modules very useful in daily professional practice, and recognized increased ability to identify patient needs and conditions and apply standard infection control practices.
• Improved critical thinking ability, improved practical knowledge thru case presentations, and improved understanding of evidence-based nursing practice
• Improved recognition among peers and current employment position, as well as increased confidence level

• Nurses have better ability to follow standard infection control practices and recognized patient behavior and condition changes
• Nurses are more attentive in documentation and recordkeeping
• Nurses have better interpersonal skills as well as English communication skills
• Nurses are more confident communication with patients and families
• Nurses are more supportive towards colleagues, better at effective task delegation, and more independently capable with emergencies and difficult situations

• Nurses are more accountable and responsible in their professional practice
• Nurses are working better with supervisors and physicians

• Nurses have improved ability to interact and share information
• Nurses enabled more effective management of illnesses and medication requirements

In addition, the learners will possess skills satisfying global best practice standards in the Nursing profession, thereby filling high demand roles in both the public and private health care sectors of Bangladesh, as well as satisfying demands in developed countries abroad and bringing in much-needed remittances for the economic prosperity of Bangladesh.
